Dilireba’s Red Carpet Dress Called “The Ugliest” & A Poor Imitation Of Fan Bingbing’s Iconic Cannes Look

Dilireba’s Red Carpet Dress Called “The Ugliest” & A Poor Imitation Of Fan Bingbing’s Iconic Cannes Look

We can’t decide if it is the 31-year-old actress’ hair, outfit, or everything altogether that made so many people dislike it.

Actress-model Dilraba Dilmurat aka Dilireba may be one of China’s most in-demand faces now, but unlike her dramas, her latest red carpet appearance isn’t a hit with everyone.
The 31-year-old actress turned up to the 2023 Elle Style Awards in a canary-yellow satin gown embroidered with blue and white flowers. She also had on a floor-length coat in the same colour and embroidery.

Dilireba’s red carpet look drew mixed reactions.

While some praised the outfit, saying it made Dilireba look like an empress, others declared it a disaster and that it was “the ugliest” of the night.

To top it off, Dilireba sported an Ariana Grande-inspired ponytail which some felt looked a little too dated and heavy on the actress’ small frame.

Sharp-eyed netizens also took to the Internet, commenting that Dilireba tried but failed to emulate disgraced Chinese actress Fan Bingbing’s classic red carpet look that she wore to the Cannes Film Festival in 2010.

Some said Dilireba tried but failed to emulate fellow Chinese actress’s Fan Bingbing’s iconic look from the 2010 Cannes Film Festival.

Apparently, this prompted Bingbing’s longtime stylist, Bu Kewen to post a sarcastic message, calling the outfit “quite nice”.

Netizens took this as a signal to pick sides and left comments asking “Who wants to imitate a tax-evading actress,” and “Your master (Bingbing) won’t be able to come back either.”

Due to the backlash, Kewen ended up deleting the post and wrote, “I meant the clothes I bought for 11.11.”

There will always be another red carpet chance for celebs like Dilireba

In a bid to soothe the online tension, Dilireba‘s stylist Liulu responded by defending the style choice.

“Objectively speaking, everyone accumulates knowledge and experience in the process, forming their own aesthetic while appreciating different forms of beauty,” before ending off how much he loved the actress’s look.

Netizens were having none of it with one even commenting, “If your aesthetic does not match Dilireba, please break up.”

Personally, we much prefer Dilireba‘s dress that she wore two years ago to the same event.

Unlike this year, Dilireba gown at the same event from two years ago drew praise from many.

You win some, you lose some.
