Wu Jing Refuses Security Escorts For Fear Of Being Accused Of Acting Like A Big Shot

Last week, Chinese stars gathered in Xiamen for the Golden Rooster Awards and Hundred Flowers Film Festival.

The four-day festival featured many fringe events and organisers arranged security personnel to escort artistes to the different venues.

It was no different for Chinese action star Wu Jing, 49.

Best known for directing and starring in the 2017 film, Wolf Warrior 2, the actor was accompanied by a team of six to eight security guards as he left an event.

However, when Wu Jing noticed the team surrounding him, he immediately waved his hands exaggeratedly, telling the security guards to disperse.

As he nudged them aside, he said: “Please help me. You’re making me feel embarrassed. If this gets posted online, they will say I’m acting like a big shot.”

The guards looked a little taken aback as they backed away.

It’s pretty hilarious and you can watch it here.

No security, please.
No, really.

Well, we don’t blame Wu Jing for being cautious.

Remember when Hong Kong star Donnie Yen had to apologise when his security team was criticised for being overprotective and aggressive at an event in Shenyang last month?

Wu Jing’s actions have sparked quite a discussion online, with many netizens praising the actor for being down to earth.
