MACC arrests exec for graft involving foreign worker computer system

PUTRAJAYA: An executive with a company providing foreign worker management systems has been arrested by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) for allegedly taking RM45,000 in bribes.

It is learnt the bribes were an inducement to make changes in the computer system between June and October this year.

An MACC spokesman said the woman, in her 20s, was arrested at MACC headquarters here at 5pm on Thursday (Nov 9) when she showed up to give her statement.

She has been remanded for seven days until Nov 16, he added.

MACC Putrajaya director Azizul Ahmad Sarkawi confirmed her arrest when contacted Friday (Nov 10), adding that the case was being investigated under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009. – Bernama
