Kara Hui Has To Take Blood Thinners After Having Heart Surgery, Says She Now Gets Bruises With The Slightest Touch

It’s a side effect of the medication.

We’re used to seeing Hong Kong actress Kara Hui playing strong and tough women on screen, but in real life the 63-year-old is a lot more vulnerable than we think.

Recently, Kara’s manager Mani Huo shared a video of her giving the actress, who was in Beijing for the premiere of her new movie Who’s The Suspect, dendrobium soup she made for her.

Kara said the soup was delicious, adding that it’s exactly what she needs now as it’s enriching for the blood.

According to Kara, many people don’t know she has to take blood thinners after going for heart surgery.

And the medication comes with some pretty scary side effects.

Lifting up her jeans to show the bruises on her calves, Kara said: “My body is covered with these. My body, legs and arms  [get bruised] with the slightest touch.”

Kara also pointed to the lights in the room and said: “Now I’m very stressed, because when we’re filming there will be people moving lights and things around and I have to use my hands as a shield. Because once I’m hit I’ll get a huge bruise. I can’t afford to get hit on the head, it would be very dangerous.”

Thankfully, Kara only needs to take the blood thinners for four more months.

“When I’m done, I’ll be [energetic] like a dragon!” she said.
