Mario Ho’s Wife, Who Has 2 Kids, Mocked For Saying Childbirth Is “Not Painful”

Chinese model Ming Xi was so relaxed, she likened the atmosphere in the delivery room to a KTV lounge.

Ask any mother and she would tell you giving birth is possibly one of the most painful experiences in a woman’s life.

Well, not if the mother is Mario Ho’s wife, Chinese model Ming Xi.

Mario, 28, son of late Casino King Stanley Ho, and Ming Xi, 33, tied the knot in 2019 and have two kids, son Ronaldo, who is four, and daughter Romee, two. Both were born via Caesarean section.

The couple, who are in the latest season of popular reality show Viva La Romance, recently shared Ming Xi’s birthing story on the series.

When fellow guest, singer Jin Sha, asked if giving birth was painful, Ming Xi replied: “I didn’t feel much because the doctor gave me anesthesia. It will hurt a little when you get the injection, but it’s fine.”

To help her relax during labour, the doctor asked her what songs she would like to listen to and played them for her.

Ming Xi likened the atmosphere in the delivery room to a KTV lounge.

She made giving birth sound so easy

Her remarks triggered netizens who mocked Ming Xi for misleading the public.

There were comments like “So rich people don’t feel pain while giving birth”, “Speechless about this trending topic. Indirectly making men think that giving birth is easy” and “Don’t mislead [others]. It doesn’t hurt during childbirth because of the anesthesia, but once it wears off, it’s excruciating.”

Others also criticised her for flaunting her riches, saying: “This is the ultimate flexing of wealth; let’s start a soccer team.”
