Charmaine Sheh Really Likes This Chinese Influencer’s Impersonation Of Her Man-Jie Character In TVB Drama The Queen Of News

New TVB drama The Queen Of News, which stars Charmaine Sheh, Kenneth Ma, Selena Lee, and Samantha Ko, has been lauded as one of the best TVB productions in years.

The 26-episode show is currently at its midway point, and is already expected to be the highest-rated TVB drama for the second half of the year.

The drama also marks Charmaine Sheh’s first TVB drama in six years.

The 48-year-old star, who has been working in Mainland China, is back to play cut-throat news anchor Man Wai Sam aka Man-jie, and viewers are absolutely loving her performance.

In fact, the popularity of Man-jie has spawned more than a few impersonators, with netizens and influencers taking to social media to share their best impressions of the no-nonsense character.

One impersonator, in particular, has stood out from the rest.

Due to numerous requests from her followers, Chinese influencer Li Ru Ru, known for her relatable skits on Xiao Hong Shu, transformed into Man-jie for one of her latest videos.

One moment the pretty long-haired influencer is sitting in a swivel chair and reading a request from a follower. The next, she spins around in the chair, and transforms into Man-jie, complete with the character’s white suit and bob haircut.

She then goes on to recite a few of the character’s classic lines, albeit in Mandarin and not Cantonese.

Ru Ru has since received plenty of praise from netizens for nailing Man-jie’s demeanour and way of speech, and has also gotten a stamp of approval from Charmaine herself.

“Wah! This is very Man-jie,” wrote the actress, who also added three thumbs-up emojis.
