M’sian Group M-Girls Pose At Wake Of Member Queenzy Cheng, Who Died 40 Minutes After Complaining Of A Headache

The 37-year-old Malaysian singer was still looking well in an Instagram story she posted just a day before her sudden passing on Tuesday (Nov 28).

Popular Malaysian singer actress-singer Queenzy Cheng passed away suddenly on Tuesday (Nov 28) at the age of 37.

According to reports, the M-Girls member, who was best known for her multiple Chinese New Year albums, was filming a segment for YouTube channel Squad Sekawan on Tuesday morning (Nov 28) when she started to complain of a headache.

She later vomited either bile or saliva, and her body started to turn purple.

The crew rushed to call an ambulance while Queenzy, who was still conscious at that time, gave her passcode for her mobile phone to contact her boyfriend. He later mentioned that his girlfriend had always been healthy.

However, by the time the ambulance arrived, Queenzy had fallen unconscious and could not be resuscitated. She was pronounced dead just 40 minutes after voicing out her discomfort.

Fans were stunned to hear about Queenzy’s passing as she was still looking happy and well in an Instagram story with the Squad Sekawan crew the day before.

Actor Chai Zi, who was on set with Queenzy, told reporters that nothing seemed amiss when he picked her up earlier in the morning and all had gone well during the filming of the first episode.

It was only when they were getting ready to start on the second episode did the actress share about not feeling well.

Chai Zi also said that shortly after calling for the ambulance, Queenzy lost consciousness though she was still breathing.

“The crew who could provide first aid checked on her saying that her heart was beating very fast before her body turned purple,” he added.

According to an autopsy report obtained by the Malaysian media, Queenzy’s death was due to a brain aneurysm.

After news of her passing was announced on her social media, netizens took to social media to express their condolences, including her former bandmate, Crystal Ong. She posted their final photo together along with the words “I hate you”.

Angeline Khoo, who was also in M-Girls, shared a blacked out IG story, adding that there would be nothing from her that night citing personal reasons.

The comments section also saw Singapore-based Malaysian actress Sora Ma comment with a sobbing emoji while another Malaysian actress and Titoudao star Koe Yeet wrote, “Heaven gained an angel today. We miss you.”

Last night, the members of M-Girls appeared at Queenzy’s wake. Cass Chin posted on Facebook a series of photos of the remaining members next to the Queenzy’s altar. They posed with finger hearts and made kissy faces to the camera.

Fans swarmed to the comments section to leave their condolences. “Love you forever, M-Girls” wrote one netizen.

M-Girls was formed in 2001 and was active as a group until 2017 when the members took a break to work on solo projects.
