Pahang govt to contact ‘Jujutsu Kaisen’ creators to promote tourism in Kuantan

PETALING JAYA: The Pahang State Legislative Assembly said it wants to call the creators of the hit anime series “Jujutsu Kaisen” after Kuantan was recently mentioned in one of the anime’s episodes.

Pahang exco member and its unity, tourism and culture committee chairman Leong Yu Man said the Pahang government was trying to get hold of the creators through the Japanese government.

She added that they intend to take advantage of the opportunity to promote Kuantan and its beaches.

“Some anime fans have also marked Kuantan as the memorial shrine for the character Kento Nanami on Google Map,” she said.

“We hope the creators of the anime can endorse the beach further so that it will be a tourist attraction for anime fans across the world,” she added.

Leong, who is also Triang state lawmaker, was answering a question by Rosli Abdul Jabar (PN-Tanjung Lumpur) during the state legislative assembly on Wednesday (Dec 6).

The name Kuantan was trending on social media after the anime mentioned it in its 42nd episode, released last month.

In the episode, the character Kento Nanami said he wanted to visit Kuantan beach in Malaysia before dying.
