PETALING JAYA: No CCTVs were installed near where the body of Zayn Rayyan Abdul Matiin was found.

Nor Haizam Hidir, a representative of the apartment’s joint management body, said that only four cameras were installed which were at the entrance, exit, the walkway of Block J and near the surau.

However there are CCTVs installed by the residents themselves within the 18 blocks of the Idaman Apartment.

“There are no other CCTVs that we officially installed due to this being a low-cost apartment, with the operating cost of the cameras at RM33.60.

“However there are those that took their own initiative to install their own CCTVs,” he said.

He added that the body was found in an area outside the jurisdiction of the management and that he could not verify if the land belonged to the government or a private owner.

“If there are children playing there maybe only those staying at Block R would know,” he said.
