While it is located in the upmarket Happy Valley neighbourhood, netizens have criticised it’s exterior for looking dilapidated.
With a 3,000 sq ft apartment on the top floor of a residential building in Hong Kong’s upmarket Happy Valley, Heavenly King Aaron Kwok and his family are naturally living a cushy life.
However, his residence has also started becoming a hotspot for Chinese tourists, with many making dedicated trips to get a picture for social media. Some have also detailed how to get there and who they saw entering and leaving.
Not that those concerns matter to netizens, most of whom have been taking issue with… how the building looks dilapidated to them.
One rudely questioned: “Why would a rich man live like this,” while another advised the Aaron to “renovate and maintain the façade” to match the luxurious surroundings.
Fans have come to the defense of Aaron, saying the interior is what truly represents a luxurious home in Hong Kong. Also, he occupies the largest unit on the top floor for privacy, with the rooftop terrace offering exquisite views of the cityscape and nearby mountains.
Previous glimpses of the apartment, courtesy of Aaron’s wife, Moka Fang‘s home videos, also showed off an opulent living space furnished with a grey sofa decked with Hermès pillows.
Would-be buyers would also find it tough to score a viewing as the building houses only 16 units, with none put up for sale in years. It prompted one netizen to say: “Even if you can afford it, you won’t be able to buy it… So why the negativity?”
Maybe Aaron thought his home would draw less attention with its unkempt façade.
