BLACKPINK Renews Contract With YG Entertainment
The long awaited news that South Korean girl group BLACKPINK would be renewing their group contract with current agency YG Entertainment was confirmed last week. Fans and investors in turn were elated.
BLACKPINK is YG’s golden goose and their contract renewal means the company’s future earnings will likely be impressive. Although previously teetering into dangerous territory, their stock price skyrocketed a whopping 28.9 percent after the contract renewal news was revealed. Subsidiary company Wi-G Plus’ stock also skyrocketed 22.38 percent.
YG stated they will continue to expand BLACKPINK’s catalogue of work and hold new concert tours. Their individual management contracts are still under negotiation.
