Israeli ship slated to dock in Port Klang on Dec 26 will be turned away, says Loke
PETALING JAYA: A vessel from Israeli cargo shipping company Zim Integrated Shipping Services Ltd (Zim) will not be allowed to dock in the Malaysian port, says Anthony Loke (pic).
It was initially slated to arrive at Port Klang on Dec 26
The Transport Minister’s statement came in the heels of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s statement earlier on the docking ban against vessels linked to Israel.

“This means the Zim vessel which was slated to dock in Port Klang on Dec 26, 2023 will not be allowed,” Loke said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 20).
“The Port Klang Authority has been ordered to assist logistics companies, importers, exporters and ships handling cargoes that has been affected,” he added.

Earlier, Anwar announced that vessels from Zim, those hoisting the Israeli flag and those bound to the country and wanting to load cargo at Malaysian ports. The docking ban has been enforced with immediate effect.
Zim is a publicly held Israeli international cargo shipping corporation and the Cabinet had allowed ships from this company to dock in Malaysia from 2002 onwards.
However, the current government decided to cancel the decisions of the former administration.
