PETALING JAYA: Two men have been arrested after a car rammed into a policeman on duty at a roadblock in Petaling Jaya late last night.

Petaling Jaya police chief Fakhrudin Abdul Hamid said in the 11pm incident, a red Perodua Myvi sped through the Sprint Expressway’s Damansara Jaya turnoff where a roadblock was in place.

A policeman was hit by the car and suffered a fractured arm.

A police vehicle pursued the Myvi for two kilometres before the car spun out of control at Section 17/50.

Two foreigners aged 35 and 45 were subsequently arrested.

“Police confiscated RM9,839.85 worth of foreign currencies and several tools for burglary, including hand drills, hammers, scissors, screwdrivers and saws,” Fakhrudin said in a statement.

The two suspects tested negative for drugs and did not have criminal records.

They have been remanded until Jan 8 and are being probed for attempted murder and possessing tools to commit burglary.
