Chopped up body not that of missing single mum

MELAKA: The dismembered body found in Alor Gajah is not that of missing single mother Mira Sharmila Samsusah, say police.

State police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Zainol Samah said DNA tests had been conducted on the family members of Mira Sharmila and another missing woman from Gemenceh in Negri Sembilan.

“Both the tests showed negative link to the body that was discovered inside a garbage bin by the roadside of Kampung Teluk Rimau Luar at Pulau Sebang on Dec 31,” he said yesterday.

Mira Sharmila, also known as Bella, 32, was reported missing on Dec 14, after she was said to have gone out with her boyfriend.

Her family members lodged a police report two days later in Batu Pahat, Johor.

Bella’s two children are aged two and four.

On Jan 6, police said that the body of an unidentified woman was found chopped up and concealed in a garbage bin on Dec 31.

The victim is believed to have been murdered at another location before her remains were discarded there.

Some of her body parts are still missing.
