Husband Of Taiwanese Influencer Expecting Triplets Shows How Much He Doesn’t Want Sons In Gender Reveal Video
The question parents-to-be hear the most is “Boy or girl?”
Gender reveal parties have become a huge trend in recent years. Pink generally represents girl, while blue represents boy. (While we don’t believe in gender coding colours, we’ll save that discussion for another day.)
Some couples have gender preferences, but most would simply consider it a blessing to welcome a healthy new life into the world.
Taiwanese influencer Lin Han, who is expecting triplets, recently shared a video of her gender reveal bash and the clip has garnered plenty of attention online, mainly because of her husband’s not-so-jolly reaction.
The couple are already parents to a boy, who turns three in March.
It was made very clear at the start of the clip that the dad really wants a girl.
“Three girls!” he shouted, as their friends teased them with cheers of “three boys”.
Lin Han popped the first balloon that released multiple smaller balloons in different shades of blue. Her husband’s expression immediately turned glum.
Their guests burst into laughter, and were immediately shown the middle finger by the husband.
You can imagine his disappointment when the second balloon also revealed blue balloons.
The husband appeared resigned to his fate as they moved to the third and final balloon.
Well, his spirits were immediately lifted as the last balloon revealed a collection of pink balloons. He picked up a pink balloon and pumped his fists as though his favourite football team just won the World Cup.
His aversion to having sons did not sit right with some netizens.
“Does having a girl or a boy make a big difference? He even flashed his middle finger… that’s not classy,” penned one netizen.
Another wrote: “Isn’t the dad’s expression too sulky? Even if they’re having sons, they’re still his children, right?”
Others felt pity for the couple’s sons, and wished that the little ones would never come across the clip in the future for fear they would feel “unwanted”.
A handful of netizens however, did not see a problem with the dad’s reaction.
They defended him, saying that he was simply interacting with his friends and making the gender reveal “more entertaining”.
Some also got a good laugh from the video, adding that it’s “normal” for a parent to have preferences when it comes to their babies’ gender.
