Six kids saved after sofa catches fire in Damansara Damai apartment
PETALING JAYA: Six children were rescued when a sofa in their apartment unit in Damansara Damai here caught fire.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said firemen from the Sungai Buloh station were dispatched to the scene once the distress call came in at 11.15am on Monday (Feb 12).
“When firemen arrived, they managed to put out the fire and rescue the six children.
“The victims – girls aged two, three, four and 11 and five year-old twin boys – were unhurt,” he said in a statement.
The victims’ parents were not home during the incident, he said.
“The parents were at the hospital as the father was seeking treatment for a heart problem.
“The children were handed over to relatives,” he added.
