Father Of Kai Ko’s $3mil Antique Collection Destroyed During Taiwan Quake

On Wednesday morning (Apr 3), Taiwan was hit by a magnitude-7.4 earthquake, the strongest the island has seen in 25 years.

The quake was felt throughout Taiwan, and in surrounding areas including Fujian, Guangdong, Jiangsu, and Shanghai.

Ko Yao Tsung, the father of Taiwanese star Kai Ko, was one of the many affected by the quake. While he got through the disaster unscathed, the same could not be said about his prized possessions.

Yao Tsung, who is an avid collector of antiques, shared a series of photos of his home after the quake. A number of his antiques had fallen off shelves and cupboards and were strewn and broken on the floor.

“Such a pity…..my heart breaks for my collection,” he wrote.

It’s been estimated that the antiques cost around TWD80mil (S$3.4mil).

Yao Tsung owns Taiwanese clothing brand Whiple, as well as  several restaurants.

Although he is not a celeb, he has many friends in showbiz, and often finds himself in the news.

Kai Ko once filmed a house tour, in which he revealed that his dad was the main decision maker for their home decor. It was also made known then that Yao Tsung is super enthusiastic about his antique and art collection.

Well, to echo his followers, what matters most is that he was lucky enough to get through the quake unharmed, right?
