PETALING JAYA: A bodyguard who took a bullet meant for his boss, travel agency owner Farah Md Isa, has undergone a successful surgery and is stable now.

The five-hour long operation to repair his intestine began at around 11.30am and was completed at about 4.30pm.

“He is now under observation for five to six days,” said Muhammad Nur Hadith’s wife Siti Noraida Hassan when contacted yesterday.

Muhammad Nur, affectionately known as Along, had suffered the injury during the shooting at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 1 on Sunday.

“He might also need dialysis. There was also some injury to the spleen. Please pray that the kidneys and spleen will regain their functions on their own.

“His condition is quite stable at this moment. Please pray for my husband’s full recovery,” she said, adding that he was still unconscious.

On Sunday morning, the airport was rocked when a man shot at his wife at the arrival hall.

Travel agency owner Farah Md Isa, better known as Farah Cie, was waiting for some clients to return from umrah when a firecracker was thrown in her direction, leading to injuries to passers-by. The assailant then opened fire on her at close range.

Along saved her life but was shot in the abdomen. The shooter then escaped to his car that was parked at Block C of the airport car park. Along was then rushed to the Cyberjaya hospital.

Farah Md Isa’s husband, identified as 38-year-old Hafizul Harawi, has since been arrested in Kota Baru over the shooting.
