Hong Kong boy group Mirror was slated to bring their Mirror Feel The Passion Concert to Kuala Lumpur’s Axiata Arena later this month (April 28). Sadly, it was announced yesterday that the show has been cancelled.
The twelve-piece group, made up of Frankie Chan, Alton Wong, Lokman Yeung, Stanley Yau, Anson Kong, Jer Lau, Ian Chan, Anson Lo, Jeremy Lee, Edan Lui, Keung To, and Tiger Yau, only just wrapped up a successful show in Toronto.
Their Malaysian fans were abruptly informed about the show’s cancellation. According to reports, the concert’s organiser, Unusual Entertainment, had met with funding issues.
Fans were disappointed by the cancellation, with many saying they had already booked flight tickets and hotels just to catch the popular group live.
According to a statement from Unusual Entertainment, ticket holders will receive a full refund, and will also have the option to exchange their tickets for Mirror’s Singapore show, which will go on as planned on May 1 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Overseas fans who have made plans to catch the concert in Kuala Lumpur will also “be able to apply for a fixed amount of travel expense compensation for expenses incurred before the announcement of the concert cancellation”.
They will need to provide relevant supporting documents and wait for an update regarding the compensation process.
Some fans have expressed concern at exchanging or buying Mirror’s Singapore concert tickets as their show here is organised by the same company. They are afraid history would repeat itself, and they would just be setting themselves up for more disappointment.
