Former TV host Norjuma charged in four different courts with causing hurt, property damage
KUALA LUMPUR: Former TV personality Norjuma Habib Mohamed has claimed trial at four Magistrate’s Courts here to charges of physically hurting three people and damaging property at a condominium.
The 44-year-old, dressed in a black skirt and white tudung with white top, pleaded not guilty before Magistrates Noor Elynna Hanim Abdul Halim, Amira Abd Aziz, Illi Marisqa Khalizan and Fatin Dayana Jalil.
She was accused of voluntarily causing hurt to Nepali security guard Neupane Tika Ram by kicking him in the calf at a tuition centre in Bukit Damansara.
The incident allegedly took place at 3pm on March 29, 2018.
She was also accused of voluntarily causing hurt on one Mohd Afiq Ismail at a business premises at 8.43pm on Feb 21, 2017.
The former TV host also allegedly slapped and scratched the hand of Nur Solehah Rosli at a condominium in Wangsa Maju in a 10.30am incident on Oct 18, 2021.
The charges under Section 323 of the Penal Code carry a maximum one-year jail term or a fine of not more than RM2,000 or both, if convicted.
Norjuma also faces two charges of property damage whereby she allegedly damaged a boom gate (estimated losses of RM4,200) and a CCTV unit (estimated losses of RM500) at a condominium in Taman U-Thant.
The charges were framed under Section 427 of the Penal Code which carries up to two years’ imprisonment or a fine or both upon conviction.
She was allowed bail at a cumulative RM6,500 in one surety.
The courts fixed June 27 for mention.
Deputy public prosecutors RG Harvind, Hamizah Hisan and Vivian yeap prosecuted, while Norjuma was represented by Izzat Amir.
