$54 Zara Dress Mistaken For Haidilao Apron
Some netizens thought it was a collaboration between the two brands.
Some netizens thought it was a collaboration between the two brands.
A mini dress retailing for US$40 (S$54) from Spanish clothing brand Zara has some shoppers in China doing a double take.
At first glance, the brown-coloured dress with red trimmings does suspiciously look like an apron one receives before starting a messy meal at hotpot chain Haidilao.
A netizen who happened to see the dress at a Zara store also thought it would be comical to add Haidilao’s logo to the front to emphasise the similarity.
After seeing pictures of the dress online, some netizens said they were tricked into thinking it was a collaboration between the Spanish brand and the hotpot chain.
Some Chinese shoppers have also made a trip down to Zara to snap a picture in the dress and later photoshop the Haidilao logo on it.
“I think it looks better with the logo,” one netizen joked.
Another commented, “I can’t possibly wear this dress out as people will think I stole an apron from Haidilao.”
Apparently, it is a common sight to see diners at Haidilao leave while still wearing the hotpot chain’s apron.
One even said after seeing all these ladies try on the dresses, he can’t look at Haidilao staff the same way again.
