Charlene Choi Called Out For Giving Fans Cold Shoulder At New York Airport; Fan Says She Did Take Photos With Them

Do people seriously expect celebrities to be all smiley 24/7?

It sure seems like it. Or at least that’s what they want from Hong Kong singer Charlene Choi.

Recently, the 41-year-old Twins member was spotted at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York where she was to attend a fashion event.

Upon landing, Charlene was immediately approached by fans, who have been waiting at the airport for her.

According to a video shared on Xiao Hong Shu, her fans at JFK excitedly greeted the star when they saw her.

However, Charlene and big baby pink luggage simply walked past those fans.

Stepping out of the airport, Charlene then blandly commented: “It’s quite cold here” without showing any intention to interact with her fans, who were still following her.

When her fans shouted “Hello!” one more time, she coldly replied “Hello” before getting on her car.

A fan subsequently took to her socials to share how happy she was to meet her idol.

“I could tell she’s very tired. Long-haul flights are really not easy,” wrote the fan.

Netizens, on the other hand, felt that Charlene appeared more aloof than usual.

“Didn’t know Charlene is so unapproachable. She pretends to be so friendly and chill on TV, but after watching your video, [my liking for her dropped by] 30 per cent,” berated one netizen.

Thankfully, the fan who took the video of Charlene defended her idol.

In a separate post, she explained that Charlene actually did take photos with her fans at the airport.

She also shared a solo pic with Charlene, saying: “I was very honoured to be able to pick her up at the airport. She just landed so she’s a little tired. But she was still very nice and even took photos with us!”

Charlene later shared a photo of her on the flight, and lamented about how tired she was in the caption.

“16 hours,” she wrote, with an aeroplane and five sleepy emojis.

Maybe the internet can cut her some slack?
