Mainland Chinese Groom Invites Late Grandma To Attend His Wedding As A Butterfly, One Lands On His Chest After His Speech

A wedding is usually a joyous event but we’re guessing for Mainland Chinese English school teacher Wang Zhan, there was a little magic in the air too.

The 29-year-old gave a heartwarming speech during the ceremony where he shared how much he missed his late grandmother who had passed on in January earlier this year.

“My grandmother raised me since I was young and I have deep feelings for her,” he said.

“When I was a child, whenever my grandmother stayed at my home, she would slip pocket money into my pencil case without telling anyone,” Wang Zhan added.

He also shared how she would find ways and means to make him stay longer on his visits by making a variety of dishes.

In an interesting twist, Wang Zhan said he ‘invited’ her to the wedding by sending a message to her WeChat asking that she transform into a butterfly.

Guess what?

A few seconds after his speech, Wang Zhan let out an emotional cry as a white butterfly that was flying around the venue magically fluttered and landed on his chest.

“My grandmother really came to see me,” he sobbed.

If that didn’t give you goosebumps, we don’t know what will.

Many netizens seem to be touched by what they saw and sent an outpouring of well wishes online.

“If science cannot explain this, it is love,” wrote a netizen.

The Chinese groom had sent a text to his late grandmother’s WeChat, inviting her to his wedding.
He even asked her to come back as a butterfly, to which she seemingly did.
His grandmum had passed away earlier this year.
