Colton Underwood Explains Why He Waited Years After Coming Out to Attend His First Pride Celebration

It’s been three years since Colton Underwood came out as gay, but he only just attended his very-first Pride celebration.

The 32-year-old former The Bachelor star, who is now married and expecting his first child, stepped out to attend Pressed Juicery’s Pride Celebration on Sunday (June 2) in West Hollywood, Calif.

In honor of Pride Month, Pressed Juicery is supporting PFLAG, the nation’s largest organization dedicated to supporting, educating, and advocating for LGBTQIA+ individuals and their loved ones.

Colton opened up at the event about attending his first Pride.

“Not that I didn’t feel qualified, I just wasn’t ready yet,” Colton told Us Weekly. “It’s taken me a few years to really put the work in. To learn and advocate and fight next to our community and understand where I fit in in all of that.”

Colton noted that people at the celebration likely included “people who maybe had judged me in the past or had things to say when my Netflix show was coming out or even still might not totally agree with how I’ve handled everything.”

“We’re all part of the same community. We have each other’s backs and nobody can get in between us,” he noted.

Colton recently talked about using a surrogate and whose sperm is being used to conceive the baby.
