Concerts featuring foreign artists on July 20 must be rescheduled in respect of King’s coronation, says agency

PUTRAJAYA: The dates for concerts involving foreign artists scheduled for July 20 must be rescheduled in respect of the coronation ceremony of the 17th King of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim.

The Central Agency for Application for Filming and Performance by Foreign Artistes Committee (JK-PUSPAL) said on Monday (July 1) that it had received five concert applications for July 20.

“According to PUSPAL’s guidelines, item 16.1(f) outlines the prohibition period for holding foreign artists concerts and large-scale foreign performances. It states that organisers are not allowed to hold such concerts on dates deemed unsuitable by the Government or State Government.

“Therefore, organisers are advised not to hold foreign artists concerts on July 20 and to reschedule them to a new suitable date as stipulated in the guidelines,” said JK-PUSPAL.
