HK actor Lee Lung Kei, 73, says many women want to date him after fiancee’s imprisonment: ‘World is full of temptations’

Hong Kong actor Lee Lung Kei, 73, recently admitted that he was taken aback by the 25-month jail term imposed on his 36-year-old fiancee Chris Wong.

Wong, a Chinese national, was convicted on five charges on June 19 – including two for violating her stay conditions, one for using fake documents, another for making false statements to obtain an entry permit and one of making a false declaration to immigration officers.

In an interview with Hong Kong media, Lee expressed his dismay over the “unexpected” length of Wong’s imprisonment, admitting that he cries late at night or when sad music plays.

The former TVB star revealed that many women have offered to be his girlfriend following Wong’s incarceration, which he considered to be a “test”.

“I have to try my best because this world is full of temptations. At this moment, I can assure that (my feelings for Wong) won’t change,” he said.

Lee stressed that he will continue standing by Wong, whose real name is Wang Qingxia.

“Every time I visit her, I will tell her not to worry. I swore that I would marry her,” he said.

Lee admitted that he initially thought Wong was after his wealth. However, his perspective changed in 2019 when Wong chose to support him following his divorce.

During the interview, the actor clarified that the rumour claiming he had transferred his seven properties to Wong wasn’t true.

In fact, there were eight properties and all of them were transferred to his ex-wife after they divorced.

“I started over with nothing, entirely for Chris in 2019. She is aware that I transferred the properties to my ex-wife but continues to face the world with a man like me in his 70s without any questions asked,” he said.

As for Wong’s conviction, Lee said her actions stemmed from an overwhelming love for him.

“She wrote 122 letters to me. All this happened because she loves me too much. She tried everything to stay by my side, which led her to do many foolish things,” he said.
