(G)I-DLE’s New Song Draws Comparisons To KATSEYE’s “Debut”

(G)I-DLE recently made their comeback with I SWAY (The 7th Mini Album), along with the title track “클락션 (Klaxon).”

(G)I-DLE’s comment section on YouTube is filled with Neverland praising the group’s latest comeback and music video. “Klaxon” is going to be the song of the summer for many fans.

Yet, the rest of the internet was not as complimentary.

A clip from (G)I-DLE’s performance video of “Klaxon” went viral with 438.9K views on TikTok at the time of writing. Many expressed their disappointment about the song, with some saying Soyeon needs a break.

Yet, some netizens even compared the new release to another girl group’s song.

Many heard similarities to “Debut” by six-member global girl group KATSEYE, formed by HYBE and Geffen Records‘ survival show The Debut: Dream Academy. Some even thought the choreography was alike.
