HK Student Has The Funniest Expressions After Hearing His Super On Classmate’s Study Schedule

Hong Kong’s secondary school allocation exercise this year saw 62 per cent of primary six students securing their first choice, the lowest since 2020.

But that piece of good news has taken a backseat thanks to a viral video of three students from Yau Ma Tei Catholic Primary School.

Chen Kaihao, Jiang Yuxuan, and Xu Jiajie all got into their preferred secondary schools and were interviewed by the media.

While Kaihao, who stood in the middle gave model answers, it was classmate Yuxuan on the left who stole the spotlight with his hilariously expressive responses each time Kaihao shared his study schedule.

At one point, Yuxuan even shot a look of disbelief towards Jiajie who was standing on Kaiho’s right, who simply gave him a wry smile, after hearing their classmate had signed up for a special cram school during the week after being dismissed from class.

We are sure viewers were waiting for Yuxuan’s next reaction, and they were not disappointed.

The expressive boy was left with his mouth wide open when Kaihao said, “Hard work is out of the question because I feel that studying is my duty.”

Netizens had a field day when the clip was posted online, many finding humour in Yuxuan’s non-verbal responses.

“This kid has the potential to become the next trending meme,” read one comment.

A few surmised that Yuxuan and Jiajie’s side-eyeing each other signalled that there might be something audiences are not privy to.

“They probably know their buddy is lying,” read one comment.

However, Kaihao also had his supporters saying he had the bearings of a government official in the future.

In a bid to give further context to the video, their primary school released a statement saying the reason behind Yuxuan’s expressions was that he was taken aback by Kaihao’s intensive study schedule.

We also think Yuxuan considers it a win that he made it to a prestigious school of his choice, without putting in the same level of effort.
