KARA’s Gyuri Faces Malicious Rumors Over Face Surgery

KARA member Park Gyuri recently suffered a severe injury that ended up giving her multiple facial fractures.

The singer’s agency put out a statement informing fans that she needed surgery to fix her face and, hence, would have to sit out all her schedules planned for July. Gyuri herself communicated with fans as well, posting right before her surgery and asking for prayers. She also updated fans about her condition post-surgery, assuring them that everything went well.

While fans have been concerned regarding Gyuri’s health, her current condition has somehow also invited malicious rumors from some online communities. Many are speculating that the real reason behind the idol’s surgery is something else. While some suspect that her facial injuries occurred because of domestic violence, others accuse her of undergoing plastic surgery in the guise of injury treatment. In addition, some netizens also belittled Gyuri’s communication with fans as her attempt to seek attention.

The hate comments and false rumors have reached such a level that Gyuri’s agency, Big Boss Entertainment, issued an official statement, warning netizens of legal action.
