Chinese actress Zhao Lusi recently found herself in the centre of plastic surgery rumours after a blogger commented how different the 25-year-old looks now.
Posting comparison pics of the star from her early days in showbiz and now, the blogger said Lusi “has changed a lot” and is now “almost unrecognisable”, suggesting she had gone under the knife.
Once known for her fresh-faced beauty and fuller cheeks, Lusi now sports a sharper face and more prominent nose.
Netizens have also noticed her transformation.
Though many noted that she’s become more beautiful, some felt she now looks like your typical influencer with no X-factor.
Last week, Lusi addressed the plastic surgery speculations on live stream, implying that her more defined facial features were due to weight loss.
She said many people have complimented her on looking more beautiful and she’s very happy about it.
“Who wouldn’t want to become more beautiful and better? I have some personal experience, and this year many people have told me, ‘Lusi, you’ve become prettier.’ I believe these changes are the result of my growth and hard work,” she said.
Lusi’s fans also noted that the actress underwent a transformation for her role in upcoming Chinese drama Love’s Ambition in which she plays an heiress.
To fit the role, she shed a bit of weight and changed her style of make-up, hence the noticeable change in her appearance.
However, some netizens remain unconvinced.
“If weight loss could achieve this, all plastic surgery clinics in the world should shut down,” commented one netizen.
