Unscheduled water cut in Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam

KUALA LUMPUR: There is an unscheduled disruption in water supply to consumers in some parts of Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam, says Air Selangor.

The disruption, said Air Selangor, is due to the temporary shutdown of the Sungai Bernam Water Treatment Plant (WTP Sungai Bernam) following the high turbidity of raw water caused by a water surge at Sungai Bernam earlier Saturday (Aug 24).

“Following this incident, consumers in some parts of Hulu Selangor and Sabak Bernam regions will be experiencing water supply disruption,” said Air Selangor chief executive officer Adam Saffian Ghazali.

Alternative assistance through water tankers, he said, will be mobilised to the affected areas by giving priority to critical premises.

“Air Selangor is making every effort to minimise the impact of disruptions on affected users,” he said.
