GISB probe: Suspect claims he has no idea where 32 of his 34 children are, says IGP

KUALA LUMPUR: One of the detainees linked to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) has four wives and 34 children – but claims he does not know where 32 of them are, says Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

The Inspector-General of Police said the man was among the 156 suspects detained in raids on GISB-owned locations during Ops Global on Saturday (Sept 21).

“Only two children are with him and he does not know where his 32 other children are.

“Investigations show that it is common among members of the group,” he told a press conference at the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) on Monday (Sept 23).

Razarudin said police also believe that all of the children rescued by the police are the offspring of GISB members.

On Saturday (Sept 21), the IGP said 156 individuals, comprising 80 men and 76 women, were detained.

He said of those detained, 55 were aged 18 to 30; 53 were aged 31 to 50; 32 were aged 50 to 65 and 16 aged 65 and above.

With most of the group’s structure dismantled, Razarudin urged remaining GISB members to turn themselves in.

“Our focus is to save the children. Their welfare is our utmost priority,” he said.

Between Sept 11 and Sept 19, a total of 200 people, including GISB top management,were detained in raids across several states.
