Siblings killed in Melaka motorcycle accident buried together
MELAKA: It was an emotional moment for the family members of two siblings who were killed after their motorcycle rammed into a dumpster. The siblings were buried about 50m away from their father’s grave at the Bertam Ulu Muslim burial ground in Paya Rumput on Tuesday evening (Sept 24).
The siblings’ 40-year-old mother, Norizan Ujak, passed out during the funeral ceremony.
Other family members, who were in sombre moods, were seen consoling a distraught Norizan at the burial ground.
Their father, Hazlin Hashim, passed away due to illness about ten months ago.
Norizan later said she felt lonely after losing all her family members within a few months.

“I lost both my eldest son and youngest daughter in just a day. I still miss my husband, and this happened to me, but I accept this as my fate,” she said.
She also hopes that stern action will be taken against those responsible for placing the dumpster along the roadside.
On Monday (Sept 23), five-year-old Nur Afiqah Sofea Hazlin and her 18-year-old brother, Muhammad Amirul Hazlin, were killed after their motorcycle rammed into the Roll-On Roll-Off (RoRo) bin left on the road shoulder along the Sungai Udang-Paya Rumput-Ayer Keroh (SPA) Highway.
Both succumbed to severe injuries.
Melaka Tengah OCPD Asst Comm Christopher Patit identified the victims as Nur Afiqah Sofea Hazlin, who was being treated at Melaka Hospital.
The motorcycle, ridden by Muhammad Amirul, crashed into the RoRo bin while on their way to visit their late father’s grave before joining other family members for dinner at 6.15pm on that day (Sept 23).
The siblings passed away between Monday evening (Sept 23) and early Tuesday morning (Sept 24) at the hospital.
