Over RM4mil syabu, heroin seized from condo used as storehouse, says Bukit Aman

KUALA LUMPUR: Over RM4mil in heroin and syabu has been seized from a low-cost condominium used to store the drugs and two suspects arrested, says Bukit Aman.

A raid by the Narcotics Crime Investigation Department (NCID) yielded 100 blue-coloured packages containing suspected syabu, 40 packs of suspected heroin, and 15 more packages with the word “daguayin”.

“In total, the police seized 124kg of suspected syabu and 21kg of suspected heroin with a combined value of RM4.18mil,” NCID director Comm Datuk Khaw Kok Chin told a press conference at contingent headquarters here on Monday (Oct 28).

Comm Kok said the raid on Oct 23 began with the police apprehending the suspects aged 25 and 21 before inspecting the condo unit.

The raid also seized a rented car believed to be used for drug delivery purposes.

“One of the suspects is believed to be a storekeeper earning RM5,000 monthly while the other was his assistant who was paid a daily stipend for expenses from the first suspect,” he said.

He added that the pair tested positive for drugs, with one of them having prior criminal offences. “The syndicate operated by using a low-cost condominium as a storehouse before distributing the drugs within the Klang Valley area,” he said.

“The NCID is conducting follow-up investigations to trace members of the syndicate that are still at large to bring them to justice,” he said.
