17-year-old who ploughed into cop’s motorbike barred from having driving licence for 5 years
SEREMBAN: A Form 5 student who ploughed his bike into a policeman’s motorcycle while riding against traffic has been barred by a Magistrate’s Court here from holding a driving licence for five years.
Magistrate Nurul Azuin Mohd Talhah also ordered the 17-year-old to serve a good behaviour bond for a year with a RM1,000 deposit.
The Form Five student, who had to be brought to the court in a wheelchair, had pleaded guilty when charged on Sept 12.
He was charged with committing the offence at around 2am on July 28 this year at KM36 of the Kajang-Seremban Expressway.
He was charged under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for riding his motorcycle recklessly and against the flow of traffic and crashing into 36-year-old Corporal Mohamed Allif Adi’s bike.
When the incident happened, the policeman was conducting a traffic operation with his team.
He suffered serious injuries.
