Girl among three killed, baby hurt after family of four on motorcycle crash into lorry

KUALA LUMPUR: Three people were killed while a baby was injured in a road accident here.

The incident occurred early Thursday (Nov 21) morning along KM2 of the Duta-Ulu Kelang Expressway (Duke), heading towards the Segambut toll plaza from Sungai Buloh.

When contacted Kuala Lumpur police chief Comm Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa said that the accident occurred after a motorcycle carrying four people crashed into a broken down lorry by the side of the road.

A second lorry was there as well to transfer goods.

“Witnesses saw the motorcycle overtake a separate lorry but lose control before crashing into the parked lorry.

“The affected lorry driver and another worker had placed five traffic cones and two more others were helping monitor traffic while the goods were being transferred out,” he said.

The crash killed a family of three, including a four-year-old girl. A fourth victim, a baby boy around a year old, survived and is being treated at the Selayang Hospital.

All bodies have also been claimed by next-of-kin. The bodies were buried at the Ukay Perdana Muslim cemetery.
