RM10.76mil allocation will boost healthcare delivery in Johor, says state MMA

JOHOR BARU: The RM10.76mil allocated in the Johor Budget 2025 will help to improve the quality of healthcare delivery to the people in the state, says medical practitioners.

The Johor Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) thanked Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi for announcing initiatives through Core Three: Social Security Network on Thursday (Nov 21).

“It was a great honour for Johor MMA to have been invited for the budget presentation by the Mentri Besar.

“The initiatives announced include upgrading the facilities of emergency wards at all government hospitals and the facilities of four health clinics, and also introducing a mobile health clinic.

“Next year’s budget will also provide assistance in delivering pharmacy services via post as well as assistance in medical assessments to government hospitals,” the association said in a Facebook post.

Johor MMA said the 2025 state budget would also install automated external defibrillators in 40 public places, adding four ambulances for government hospitals and also launch the Johor Free Dengue Programme 2.0.

Meanwhile, Johor health and environment committee chairman Ling Tian Soon said the state budget also allocated RM800,000 for the Johor Sihat Programme for civil servants.

“This will be a collaboration with KPJ Healthcare to provide civil servants with health check ups next year to ensure they are in good health,” he added.

Ling thanked Onn Hafiz for also allocating RM240,000 to continue the state’s efforts to address 17 areas that are deemed as high-risk drug addict areas.
