Victim sought husband’s forgiveness before tragic accident

LUMUT: Accident victim Nor Fadhilah Mohd Azlan, 24, had asked for her husband’s forgiveness prior to the fatal incident that also claimed the life of their two-year-old child.

Mohammad Shuqur Ahmad, 24, said his wife talked a lot and had asked for forgiveness, reported Sinar Harian.

“At the same time, my wife mentioned that if she ‘went,’ she wanted to go with Iman (Muhammad Iman Irfan, 15 months). I was puzzled and asked why she was saying that.

“My wife just replied, ‘maybe it is meant to be.’ I was silent, and while driving, I saw something like an animal in the middle of the road, and I tried to avoid it, and after that, I remember nothing,” he said when met at the Forensic Unit compound of Seri Manjung Hospital here.

Mohammad Shuqur, who works as a lorry driver, said that upon regaining consciousness, he went to his wife, who was in a critical condition.

“In her critical state, my wife kept asking for forgiveness, and I asked her to be patient before she suddenly went silent.

“My eldest son (Muhammad Alif Sufi, aged 3) was crying and hugging me at the time. I was in shock and didn’t know what to do because it all happened so quickly,” he said.

Mohammad Shuqur said his wife appeared happy and was laughing a lot while they were in her village in Felda Lui Selatan, Negri Sembilan, on Wednesday.

“Before that, my wife was very eager to return to her village to see her mother.

“Although they only met for a short while, she was very happy before we left in the afternoon,” he said.

Nor Fadhilah and her son died on the spot in the 5.15am incident, which happened at KM212 of the West Coast Expressway in Manjung.
