Award-Winning Singer Only Sells 4 Albums In A Day, Shocking Netizens

While streaming is one way of measuring an album’s success, many people still use physical albums to gauge how well a star is doing. More often than not, low album sales point to issues for an artist’s continued promotions in the future.

Recently, a popular singer’s low album sales sparked much surprise from netizens.

In 2012, Ailee made her debut with “Heaven,” immediately attracting much attention with her powerful vocals and earning . The singer continued to grown in popularity throughout the years, embarking on solo tours and often appearing on the OST albums of popular series.

After the release of her 2021 album, Lovin’, the star only released singles until her return on March 20, 2025 with her 7th mini album (Me)moir.  And while many singers who perform well on charts don’t necessarily have the fandoms that mass buy albums don’t record huge sales, the amount Ailee sold during her first week has left many in shock.

According to the Hanteo Chart, the album only sold 120 copies during the first week of sales, a decrease from her best physical album, Butterfly, and even a reduction from her last physical album.  On many of the days of the first week, Ailee sold less than ten albums.

The idol’s streaming performance also seems to have dropped, with Circle Chart not having the title track “MMI” listed in the top 100 songs the week it was released under the downloads chart category.

In response, many netizens have offered support to Ailee along with their surprise, commenting on her talents.
