KISS OF LIFE’s Personal Apology Sparks Heated Mixed Reactions

Recently, KISS OF LIFE were criticized for depicting racist stereotypes and cultural appropriation during Julie‘s birthday livestream.

The group’s agency, S2 Entertainment, issued an apology afterwards, which was not met with positive reactions. The group continued to lose followers on their social media accounts, with many dedicated fans deciding to withdraw their support.

On April 5, the group made a personal apology in the form of a handwritten letter shared on their social media platforms. KISS OF LIFE mentioned that they would do better in the future and that this was a learning experience.
This apology has already been met with a variety of reactions from netizens, some of which are not positive.
On the posts featuring the letter, some commented that they were glad that the group apologized and accepted it.



On the other hand, many felt that this apology was still insincere, noting that there were no mentions of the communities that were affected. Others referenced the group’s pre-live stream request of staying fans even after it took place, saying that it showed that they knew what they were doing was wrong.
The issue of cultural appropriation is a very serious one and it is up to those each of those impacted to decide if they feel KISS OF LIFE’s apology was enough for them personally.
