Girl Group Announces Their Disbandment, Final Appearance
They were together for nine years.
After nine years together, a girl group is going their separate ways. The announcement comes ahead of their final appearance, which will take place this summer.

Wagamama Rakia is an alternative Japanese idol girl group that debuted on June 17, 2016. The group currently has four members: original members Hoshikuma Minami and Kaine Rin, and newer members Kawasaki Layna and MIRI. Kawasaki Layna joined the group in 2018, and MIRI joined in 2019.

On April 18, Wagamama Rakia posted an “Important Notice from Wagamama Rakia” on their X (formerly Twitter) account. The post included a link to a disbandment announcement on the group’s official website.
After discussions about their future as a group, Wagamama Rakia decided to permanently conclude their time together. In their statement, the group apologized for the sudden announcement and expressed their gratitude to their fans, explaining that the disbandment isn’t a negative thing. Rather, the members felt that they had gone as far as they could go as a group, and they wanted to continue to explore their artistry separately while continuing to be friends.
We’re not breaking apart – we’re just moving forward. Dragging things out wouldn’t be very ‘Wagamama Rakia’ of us. So we’ll give it everything until the end, and use this time to connect to our next chapters.

Their final appearance will be on July 9, 2025, at Zepp Haneda, a music venue in Tokyo.
