TWICE Jeongyeon’s Weight Loss Triggers Heated Discourse

“Weird as f*ck.”

TWICE recently announced their 4th studio album FOUR, coming this summer.

The teaser quickly gained attention online. Particularly, when the video beings, it is solely focused on Jeongyeon before zooming out to the other members.

Comments soon went viral mentioning her apparent weight loss as one of the factors allegedly creating hype for the comeback.

However, the viral post was met with immediate backlash. Fans defended Jeongyeon from the unnecessary scrutiny of her body.

Many discussed how Jeongyeon receives the most harsh body image related comments from haters online.

In 2021, Jeongyeon went on hiatus due to a herniated disc and anxiety (She gained weight likely as a side effect of her medication), making body image surrounding the idol an extremely sensitive topic.
