Once Called “Ugliest Celeb Kid”, Daughter Of Taiwanese Actress Now Praised For Her “High-Fashion Face”

She was once mocked online for her looks and cruelly dubbed the “ugliest celeb kid.” Today, 16-year-old Lin Xi Tong, daughter of Taiwanese stars Zhang Ting and Lin Ruiyang, is turning heads for a very different reason — her striking features and confident runway presence.

Standing at 1.75m, Xi Tong made her runway debut last year.

Since then, she has been winning praise for her unconventional beauty and “high-fashion face”.

But her journey to self-acceptance hasn’t always been easy.

Growing up in the public eye, Xi Tong was subjected to harsh comments from a young age, with some saying she “did not inherit her parents’ good looks at all.”

More recently, Zhang Ting shared several videos on Xiaohongshu, in which Xi Tong spoke candidly about beauty standards, stressing that people should not be constrained by a single definition of beauty.

She believes that “every skin tone is beautiful, and everyone has a different way of seeing beauty”.

Addressing online discussions about her complexion, Xi Tong handled the comments with humour, joking that people might be shocked if they saw her in person because she is more tanned in real life.

She also shared that she enjoys tanning and does not often apply sunscreen.

Although her mother has warned her that tanning may cause freckles, Xi Tong said she actually likes having freckles.

In another clip, Zhang Ting asked Xi Tong who she thought she resembled more.

“I think I look like my dad,” replied Xi Tong, showing a photo of her father’s tanned skin.

“Even though you can’t really tell, he’s actually just as tanned as I am.”

Father and daughter prefer a bronzed glow, with Xi Tong revealing that her dad had even bought her tanning oil — only for her to point out that she already owns the same product.

Hearing this, Zhang Ting urged Xi Tong to refrain from tanning as it might damage her skin.
