Oscar Winners Allison Janney, Jeff Bridges, & Christoph Waltz Join Cast of ‘Minions & Monsters’

The upcoming film Minions & Monsters has an impressive cast!
Universal Pictures and Illumination have announced that Oscar winners Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, and Jeff Bridges have joined the cast, along with Oscar nominees Jesse Eisenberg and Trey Parker.
The cast also features Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr.
Minions & Monsters is the third Minions film, itself a spinoff from the main Despicable Me franchise, and a sequel to Minions: Rise of the Gru.
This time around, the Minions, led by Dick, conquer Hollywood to become stars then “lost everything, unleashed monsters onto the world and then banded together to try and save the planet from the mayhem they had just created,” shares the logline.
Pierre Coffin, who directed the first three Despicable Me movies, Minions, and has voiced all the minions in the franchise, returns to direct.
“The Minions have always had a wonderfully subversive spirit and Minions & Monsters delivers a full dose of irreverence and comedic mayhem,” Illumination’s founder and CEO Chris Meledandri said, per Deadline. “Pierre and his Illumination team have brought a level of artistry to the film that has thrilled me all throughout production. The voice cast is filled with exceptional talent. The film’s story is unexpected and delightful, and perhaps the most lovely surprise is how Minions & Monsters serves to honor cinema, its origins and the comedians who are the original inspiration for these adorable little guys.”
Minions & Monsters will be released in theaters on July 1. Watch the trailer!
