Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor & Dr. Halina Are Expecting Twins Again

Malaysia’s first astronaut, Datuk Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar Shukor recently took to his social media accounts to announce that he and his wife, Dr. Halina Mohd Yunos are expanding their family!

The good news didn’t stop there. Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar also revealed that another set of twins are on the way. For the uninitiated, the couple’s first pair, Sheikh Adam and Sheikh Noah were born in 2017.

He continued, “But carrying twins during pregnancy is totally high risk as we have experienced that before; Double nauseous, double vomiting, double bloating, double craving, double bleeding – which she experienced. It was tough seeing Dr Halina undergoing through her 1st trimester and still working as a frontliner treating Covid-19 patients and she truly deserves my utmost respect.”

Many of Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar’s friends and followers have been leaving warm prayers and also congratulatory messages in response to the delightful news. Besides Instagram, the recent announcement has also sent local netizens into a frenzy on Twitter. He even became a trending topic online.

One particular reaction that caught our attention is the tweet from @aqilbean, who commented about the surgeon’s facial hair. According to him, “Wow. Those beard really works! Congrats both of you! Dr Halina once commented on Dr. Sheikh Muszaphar IG ‘Don’t shave if you want baby number 5’. Looks like it’s not gonna be just num 5, but baby num 6 also!”

The lovebirds also have 2 daughters together, Sophea Isabella and Sophea Natasha, in addition to the twin boys.
