Edwin Siu Teases Jeannie Chan for Being Too Wild

Playing an unconventional pair in Beauty and the Boss <愛美麗狂想曲>, Edwin Siu (蕭正楠) is the effeminate male to Jeannie Chan’s (陳瀅) straightforward, tomboy character. With the drama currently airing on TVB, Edwin exposed Jeannie’s wild side in their bedroom scene together.

Almost Ripped Off Edwin’s Briefs

At the press meet, when Ali Lee (李佳芯) spilled that Jeannie has a revealing performance in the drama. Edwin laughingly recalled a hiccup on the set of the “wild” bed scene, “Jeannie was very brazen in that scene, and was busy ripping off my shirt and pants. Under all that chaos, I realized my briefs were halfway removed and quickly called a stop. I put on an extra pair of briefs before resuming filming.” Teasing his onscreen partner, Edwin added that he would warn the actress’s prospective suitors to go ahead and court her only if they can accept her wild personality.

Chipping in, Jeannie said that she might look feminine in appearance, but her character is the more “man” of the two, whereas Edwin’s role is much more feminine. She was the one who took the initiative on many matters. Jeannie said, “After filming ended, I could not get out of character right away, and my friends complained that I spoke too crudely!”

Days before the cast promotion, Jeannie just completed her 21-day hotel quarantine after returning from Canada. Asked how she passed the time, Jeannie said she tried to follow a schedule as to what time to wake up and eat her meals. “Since I couldn’t open the windows, there was no fresh air. Without any face-to-face interactions with anyone, I felt very lonely. If anyone has been quarantined before, you’ll understand the level of excitement when the doorbell rings, wondering who could be looking for you or what surprise is ahead.”

Friends sent her many gifts, including food and flowers, to keep Jeannie cheerful during this time. “Every three to four days, Alex Fong (方力申) would ask if I was okay and needed anything. Aside from him, many friends were also concerned about me. Stephanie Ho (何雁詩) even sent me a case of beer.” Jeannie decided to put the beer to good use and would frequently have drinking parties by herself inside her hotel room. “There was a three-way mirror, so there were four versions of myself. Whenever I said ‘Cheers!’ there would be four people drinking!”
