Cristiano Ronaldo is a household name in football. He has a reputation as one of the best players around, and he often makes it into lists of the best players of all time. His Argentinian girlfriend, Georgina Rodríguez, is all too aware of her partner’s duties as a football legend, and has her own set of rules to keep Ronaldo happy and healthy.

The couple met first in 2016, while Rodríguez worked as a clerk in a Gucci store. And the rest, as they say, is history. The two sure make a striking couple. Ronaldo has been a sex symbol next to his career as a professional footballer, and Rodríguez has made a name for herself as a model. The gorgeous pair has been together for several years, first stepping out as a couple in November 2016. Since then, Rodriguez has given birth to their first daughter together in 2017, and the pair still appear to be going strong.

Marriage rumours

As is the case with many a celebrity couples, the pair have been caught in their fair share of rumours. For example, a set of Instagram posts by Georgina poured fuel on the ever-blazing fire of marriage rumours. In an image posted with a cryptic caption, she and her boyfriend (or possible husband) appear side by side, awkwardly covering up her left hand – possibly hiding a wedding ring? A video posted a few days later turned out to be even more fuel for tabloids to discuss what they considered an obvious marriage ceremony. In the video, the pair is seen surrounded by friends and family, in what is styled much like a wedding film. Official word of any marriage has not come out from the two, and so they keep the press guessing.

Health and fitness

Of course, when your boyfriend (or husband) makes his living making sure that he’s in tip-top shape to outperform his opponents on the pitch, you’ll go to great lengths to ensure his health. Ronaldo recently turned 36, and despite his age is still outperforming many a young talent. He’s currently leading in Italy’s top scorers’ charts as he plays for Juventus F.C., staying ahead of big names such as Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku and Ciro Immobile.

Bizarre rules

To keep each other happy and healthy, the couple has a few rules between themselves that may seem bizarre to people like you and me. Rodríguez recently opened up about the couple’s relationship in an interview with Sportweek. Amongst other things, she mentions Ronaldo is not allowed to change any lightbulbs at the pair’s Turin residence. “Our ceilings are very high. If you were Cristiano Ronaldo, would you get on a ladder and change a lightbulb several meters above ground? It’s better if he doesn’t.”

Taking care

The Argentinian adds: “All Ronaldo has to do, is be the best at what he does. I’ll take care of the rest.” Of course, considering the pair’s net worth, they’re easily capable of paying for others to help them out. Ronaldo is the first footballer to earn $1 billion over his career. Rodríguez has remarked for example, that she will occasionally cook for the footballer, but they also have a cook. “It’s logical he’s focused on his passion, football. He doesn’t cook. After a morning training session, he deserves a good meal that’s prepared with love. We have a cook and every now and then I’ll do the cooking.”

A happy family

Between the two of them, the pair have four children. Ronaldo has a son with an unknown woman, and a pair of twins through surrogacy. In 2017, Rodríguez gave birth to their first daughter together. “We have a house with a yard for the children to play in”, she told Sportweek. “I’m happy here.” And if a few home-cooked meals and a ban on changing lightbulbs is all it takes to keep your family happy and healthy, then that’s obviously effort worth putting in.
