David Letterman Disses Tom Cruise’s Reason for Skipping Oscars 2023

David Letterman has some thoughts about Tom Cruise‘s decision to miss the 2023 Oscars.

The 75-year-old former late night host reflected on the awards show during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

If you forgot, Jimmy hosted the ceremony this year, and his wife has revealed some behind-the-scenes secrets from the big night.

During the interview David asked about Tom‘s absence and then revealed what he thought about the screen icon missing his big night.

Describing his question as “a little sensitive,” David asked about Tom and was told that the reason he missed was unclear but possibly “production issues.”

David responded by deeming that a “nonsense” excuse.

“Tom Cruise should have been there, celebrating his big jet pack maverick show,” he opined before turning it around to compliment Jimmy for the successful evening.

“More to the power of your success,” he said. “If Mr. Big Shot is not there, and still the show has never been more successful, nice go Jimmy.”
