Lee Je Hoon Loves Hong Kong
Korean drama Taxi Driver 2 starring Lee Je Hoon, Kim Eui Sung, and Pyo Ye Jin has been airing in Hong Kong on ViuTV with ratings climbing each week. Yesterday, Lee Je Hoon appeared at the 2023 Hong Kong International Film and TV Market (FILMART) as a ViuTV’s guest to promote Taxi Driver 2.
At FILMART, Viu has already confirmed over 100 upcoming shows, of which 25 are Viu Originals which are titles acquired and co-produced by Viu for exclusive first-run release or distribution. These include Taxi Driver 2, Delivery Man, and The Secret Romantic Guesthouse.
Viu will also be working with Lee Je Hoon and Lee Seung Gi to hold fan meetings across Asia. Lee Je Hoon will start meeting with fans in Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore on March 3, 19, and 25 respectively. He is excited to embark on his 2023: Vacation Fan Meet Tour and shared that he will be singing some songs. “My fans should know that singing is not my strong suit! I’ll do my best to practice and hope to perform the songs!”
It has been many years since Lee Je Hoon’s last visit in Hong Kong, and the actor shared excitedly, “In the past, I would visit two to three times a year. This time, I immediately went to a Hong Kong café after I landed to eat French toast and drink Hong Kong milk tea. I really love Hong Kong food. I also saw a lot of Hong Kong fans waiting at the airport and I am very happy to see everyone. I’ve been spending time in Wan Chai the past few days–I really love Hong Kong’s streets. It would be nice to film or even live here in the future!”
Taxi Driver 2 was filmed partially in Vietnam, but Lee Je Hoon he hopes to re-enact the drama’s scenes in Hong Kong and drive Hong Kong’s iconic red taxis as his character Kim Do Ki. If there is a third season, he would like to film a scene on a tram where he would have to look for the antagonists on the upper deck!
