Emma Chamberlain Addresses Her Website Briefly Selling $10,000 Personalized DMs & Online Haters
Emma Chamberlain is opening up about those very expensive DMs that her website was briefly selling.
If you missed it, the 21-year-old social media star’s website was offering fans the opportunity to purchase a $10,000 “Thank You Note From Emma” that would be delivered via Instagram DMs. If fans were short on cash, they had the opportunity to finance the note out over several months.
The listing was met with a negative backlash, and Emma was dragged online even though her team said that it was an accident that she had nothing to do with.
She opened up about life in the public eye and accountability in a new interview.
“I’ve had multiple falling-outs of grace,” Emma told Rolling Stone when asked about the situation. “That’s really hard for me, because if I intended to do something that was wrong or hurtful, f-cking go off, tell me what’s up.”
She continued, adding, “I’m not a perfect person. Have I f-cked up? Hell yes, I’ve f-cked up. But there were a lot of times when things that I did maybe got taken out of context, twisted into [their] own narrative. And you feel out of control of your identity. I’m being generous by saying this shit has f-cked with me on a mental level in so many ways.”
Earlier this month we learned that Emma has a very exciting job coming up next month.
